Ultimate Battletop Championship: Wisconsin

11 AM Sunday, January 20, 2008
(assuming the officiants are awake by then)

Update: please note the new time on Sunday for this contest. Also, you must use an Official Ultimate Battletop Championship top, available from Alan Gray for a reasonable price.

There will be two rounds to the contest: Long Spin, and Death and Destruction.

In the Long Spin round you get more points the longer your top remains spinning compared to the rest of the players in the arena.

In the Death and Destruction round, spinning doesn't matter at all, you only get points for tops knocked out of the arena, and damage done to other tops. Halfway through the last contest we decided that it was also a good idea if you got a point for a top ricochet that hit another competitor. This rule addition was developed after a competitor (who shall remain nameless) got it in the nards off a bad bounce.

Other Spinning Top Contests

We have not yet decided whether there will be any other top contests this year. Please watch this site for updates.

SILENT Prop and Other Stuff Raffle

Sunday afternoon in the Field House.

You could win any of lots of fine juggling props, t-shirts, snazzy hats or other stuff too weird to categorize. Prizes are donated by many fine vendors and other MadFest benefactors. One free ticket for each person who signs in. You must be present and conscious sometime Sunday afternoon to win.

In an effort to maximize juggling time, we will again have our patented semi-silent raffle. The rules are (subject to change):

  1. Each attendee can pick up a ticket on Sunday.
  2. You do not need to put your name on the ticket. Put half the ticket in the can. Keep the other half.
  3. Sunday afternoon, we will have a drawing. Winners who are present will receive their prizes immediately. Unclaimed tickets will be attached to the associated prize.
  4. After the drawing, you can check to see if you won anything.
  5. Unclaimed prizes at the end of the festival will become the property of the Madison Area Jugglers to be used however we deem fit.
