The Madison Area Jugglers welcomes anyone who is interested in juggling and related arts. We meet twice a week in Madison, WI:
Juggling practices can be very informal and jugglers may trickle in over the first hour. If you are new to the club, you should plan to arrive a little late, or be prepared for some quiet time at the beginning of practice.
Our indoor locations for poor, wet, and not-so-warm weather (e.g. winter) varies from day to day and year to year. This web site will be updated with the latest locations and special holiday exceptions, so please check here first if you want to know where we'll be. And please feel free to contact us for up-to-the-minute details, specific directions, links to more maps, parking tips, or other information.
Last update: 11 October 2008.
Join us at the Goodman Community Center! 149 Waubesa St on the east side.
Our winter 2008-2009 location is the basement of the First Congregational Church at 1609 University Ave., between Breese Terrace and Lathrop St. A map is available here. Enter through the door by the parking lot off of Lathrop St. (also reachable on foot through a walkway from Breese Terrace). Go down several flights of stairs to the basement, and follow either the sound of clubs dropping or the signs to the Dining Room, whichever you notice first.
We'll be there every Thursday from October 2008 onwards through January and
beyond, until it warms up again, except for these dates:
November 27, 2008 (Thanksgiving)
December 25, 2008 (winter break)
January 1, 2009 (winter break)
Dates beyond the middle of January 2009 are yet to be determined.
See below for our outdoor summer location.
There is an additional student group that meets weekly in Upper Carsons, by the Lakeshore Dorms. Times vary, so please check the forum for the latest updates.
Hey, it's fun! If we've got good weather, we bring our fire juggling supplies with us Thursday nights during the summer and early fall. Sometimes we throw in a bit of glowsticking and glow staff to the mix. We play with fire on other days as well... watch the forum and mailing list to keep in the loop.
When it's nice and warm out, we meet on Library Mall on the UW campus. We'll either be right out on the grass in front of the clock tower, or when it gets dark, nearby on the raised concrete deck.
During the summer when the weather doesn't cooperate, we use the same indoor locations as on Sundays.
